A few words about Yiannis

Born in 1989 in Santorini.

He studied the following subjects at the Department of Greek Music at the Athens Conservatory:
Cretan lute, Paris Perisinaki class (2009-2011)
Mainland lute, stelios Katsianis class (2011-2016)
Rhythmology, Theory of Greek Traditional Music – Maqam, class of Christos Tsiamoulis and
Harmonics Accompaniment, class of Nikos Angelopoulos

In saz (tabouras) he is self taught.

While studying, Yiannis was a member of the Greek Music Orchestra at the Athens Conservatory under the conductorship of Andreas Tsekouras.

Since then Yiannis has made appearances at music venues in Athens and Santorini, at Greek traditional music events in the Cyclades and in the Greek diaspora. He has collaborated with Giannis Pantazis, Lampis Xylouris (Psarolampis), Manolis Boudalakis, Kyriakos Gouvedas, Christos Tzitzimikas and Nikos Kyriazis (CD Summer Dreams, 2016). Yiannis has featured in the Latinitas Nostra music group for the opera Orpheus by Monteverdi under the direction of Markellos Chrisikopoulos (Athens Concert Hall, 2017), in the the Municipality of Thira program of cultural events (2012 - today) and at musical events at the Santorini Arts Factory (2017).

Since 2017 he has offered lessons in Mainland & Cretan lute, saz (tabouras) as well as Greek music theory in person and online.

Teaches in both English and Greek.
