A few words about Dimitris

Born in 1968 in Nikaia, Attica, where he still lives, in the mid-80s Dimitris began his musical studies under the tutelage of the composer Lefteris Skamagas, continued at the National Conservatory of Athens and later took lessons from drummer Pavlos Moraitis. Since 1996 he is a member of the Panhellenic Music Association and at the same time teaches drums and percussion (darbuka, doumbek, tambourine, bongos, cajon, bendir etc).

Dimitris has had a notable session musician career with his participation on recordings and video clips of the group "Rendezvous in the Finale", the Dimitris Zikos album entitled "Penelope", the Stergios Daousanakis album entitled "erotic 8", recordings and video clips by Jenny (Jenny Karapataki), the Ministry of Transport recording of the song-book entitled "Attention", participation in the "carols and hidden treasure of Christmas"children's book and album and played the toubeleki. He was a member of the "M.V. Athens Orchestra" group for the "Journey to Hollywood" performance, as well as the music and dance group "Music Vision", which put on the "Magic of the Musicals"performance at theaters and stage venues. He has also collaborated with musical performers such as Sia Koskina, Marianna Toli, etc., as well as with renowned musicians such as Antonis Mitzelos, Vassilis Paiteris, Dimitris Vasalakis and others, as well as in orchestras at clubs and concerts with folk and contemporary bands, music and dance performances and television appearances.

Finally, an important role in his development as a professional (session) musician and teacher was played by courses he attended led by renowned Greek and international drummers such as: David Garibaldi, Paul Verdico, Nikos Touliatos, Kostas Anastasiadis, Nikos Kapilidis, Stefanos Demetriou, Andreas Mouzakis, Giorgos Metallinos, Albertos Panayiotopoulos and others.

He has taught drums and percussion since 1996.

Teaches in both English and Greek.
